Made in Abyss follows the journey of Riko, a spirited young orphan living in the town of Oosu, situated at the edge of an enormous, mysterious chasm known as the Abyss. During one of her expeditions into the upper layers, Riko discovers a mysterious boy who appears to be a sophisticated robot with no memory of his past. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, seeking answers about the boy's origins and Riko's mother. As they venture deeper, they encounter the Abyss's beautiful yet terrifying wonders, while facing increasingly dangerous challenges and uncovering dark truths about this enigmatic underworld.
