Set during China's Warring States Period (475-221 BCE), Kingdom follows the journey of Shin, a war orphan with an unwavering dream of becoming the greatest general under the heavens. Living in poverty in the state of Qin, Shin and his best friend Hyou spend their days training with swords, determined to rise above their lowly status through military achievement. Their lives take a dramatic turn when circumstances lead Shin to encounter Ei Sei, the young king of Qin who would eventually unite China as its first emperor. As political conspiracies and power struggles threaten the kingdom, Shin finds himself drawn into a much larger conflict than he ever imagined. The series chronicles his evolution from a slave boy with a sword to a warrior fighting on history's grandest stage, while depicting the brutal realities of war, loyalty, and ambition in ancient China.
